            Earthquake is destructive. It is unpredictable. Schools in some areas conduct earthquake drills in practice in preparation for an earthquake. Stop, drop and hold on is used during the drill.

Running outside is dangerous, as glass, bucks, or other building components may be falling. Again, you are much safer to stay inside and get under a table.

            Stay away from glass, windows, outside door and walls, and anything that would fall such as lighting features or furniture. Before an earthquake occurs, fasten shelves securely to wall and place heavy objects or lower shelves. Hang items such as pictures and mirrors away from beds or anywhere people sit in. Identify safe places in each room.
            Therefore, of all earthquake preparedness measure, earthquake drills are the most important measure in preparing for an earthquake.
